Delete your account

You can delete your Choirside account and its data at any time, or delete just part of your data and keep the account. You do not need to be signed in to make the request.

You may not need to delete your account

Most of what Choirside holds about you can be deleted on its own, from inside the app, while your account stays open:

  • Recordings you made: open the recording and choose Delete. You can always delete your own takes.
  • Passkeys and linked accounts: Settings → Security. Removing one is always safe; you can still sign in with a one-time email code.
  • Everything you have in one choir: open the choir and choose Leave. This removes you from it along with your attendance and every recording you made there, and leaves your account and your other choirs untouched.
  • Songs, backing tracks, announcement groups, and whole choirs: if you're a director, delete these from the choir or song they belong to.

Anything else, email privacy@broadheadsoftware.com from the address on your account and tell us what you want removed. We'll confirm by replying to that address, and you don't have to close your account to ask.

The quickest way

If you can still sign in, delete your account in the app: Settings → Security → Delete account. You are signed out everywhere immediately, and the account is deleted 30 days later: a grace window, so a request made by mistake can be undone. Signing back in during those 30 days cancels it.

If you can't sign in

Email privacy@broadheadsoftware.com from the address on the account, with “Delete my Choirside account” as the subject. We reply to that address to confirm the request before anything is deleted, so nobody else can start a deletion for you.

If you no longer have access to that mailbox, write to us anyway and tell us what happened, and we'll work out another way to check the account is yours.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and profile
  • Recordings you uploaded
  • Your choir memberships and voice part
  • Usage and diagnostic data linked to you: deleted, or aggregated so that it no longer identifies you

What we keep, and for how long

  • Transaction records: invoices and receipts, kept for 7 years, because tax and accounting law requires us to retain them. They sit with our payment provider and in our accounting records rather than in your account. This applies only if you bought a subscription; members never pay, so most accounts have none.
  • Moderation and copyright records: reports, takedown notices, and the action we took, kept for 3 years so we can apply our policies consistently and identify repeat problems.

Both are kept in the narrowest form that still serves the purpose, and are deleted when the period above ends. Nothing else about your account outlives the 30-day window.

Content you shared with a choir

If you're a director, content you uploaded to a choir you own is deleted with your account. Content you shared into a choir someone else manages may remain available to that choir if its director keeps it.

How long it takes

We delete or de-identify your personal information at the end of the 30-day grace window, except for the limited records described above.
