Choirside is free while in beta. Every choir that joins before we launch is marked a founding choir, permanently, and a founding choir account keeps 50% off our published subscription fees for good.
- Joining is what earns it. You don't have to subscribe to anything now, or promise to later.
- It won't lapse. Cancel, sit on the free tier for two years, come back, and your account is still a founding choir, and the rate is still half.
- It follows the product. Any plan or package we add later, premium features included, is half price for you too. Fees we pass straight on, like payment processing, aren't discounted.

We'll publish the prices well before we ask anyone for a card, and no choir is charged without agreeing to it first. Founding choirs pay half of whatever those subscription fees turn out to be, and half of any plan or package we add later; fees we pass straight on, such as payment processing, are charged in full. Questions directors ask
What does Choirside cost right now?
Nothing. Every plan is free while we're in beta. No card, no trial clock counting down, no feature switched off to make a point. We'll say so clearly, and well in advance, before that changes.
How do I become a founding choir?
Start a choir before we launch. That's the whole of it. There's no code to enter and nothing to buy. Your account is marked from the day you create it.
What if I don't subscribe when you start charging?
Then you don't, and you keep the founding rate anyway. It's attached to your account, not to a subscription, so it survives you dropping to the free tier, canceling, or leaving for a year and coming back. Whenever you do decide to subscribe, you pay half the subscription fee.
Does the discount cover things you build later?
Yes. As Choirside grows there will be more to buy than there is today; additional packages, and new useful features. Founding choirs get those at half price too, not just the plan they started on. The discount covers what we charge for Choirside itself; it doesn't cover transaction fees, payment processing, or taxes, which we pass on in full.
Why aren't the prices on this page?
Because we're still talking to directors in the beta about what Choirside is worth to them, and we'd rather publish a number we'll stand behind than one we'll quietly revise. What we'll commit to now is the shape: the choir is what's priced, members are never charged, and practicing is free at every tier.
Do my choir members pay?
No. The subscription covers the entire choir, and the director or their organization buys it.
What's held back from the free plan?
Just the limits of members, tracks, and choirs.
Is "unlimited" really unlimited?
For a choir, yes. Add every singer you have, upload everything you're rehearsing, and we won't meter it or count it against you. What unlimited doesn't cover is a plan used as something other than a choir: general file storage, a way to publish audio to the public, or one account standing in for a dozen separate ensembles. If your use ever looked like that to us we'd write to you and talk about it first. The detail is in fair use.
What happens to my tracks if I cancel?
We believe in you owning the content you produce. We make it easy to download all your files, hassle free, if you want to change to a different tool, or simply keep a local copy. Upon cancellation, your choir keeps access until the end of the paid period, including a grace period. The choir or organization will then move to the Free tier limits, 15 members and 10 active tracks, and we'll tell you beforehand if that means anything needs removing. Nothing is deleted without warning.
Do you offer rates for churches, schools, or charities?

Will paying annually be cheaper?
Yes. Church and school budgets run annually, one renewal a year beats twelve, and the annual price will be set well below twelve months of the monthly one.
Can I pay by invoice or purchase order?
Yes, on the Organization plan. Get in touch and we'll set it up.
How will I pay, and how do I cancel?
Subscriptions will be purchased and managed on the web, in your account settings, with card payments handled by Stripe. You'll be able to cancel in the same place, in one click, no hassle. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period you've paid for ends.
Does a subscription cover the music licenses?
No. Choirside is a tool for sharing files. It doesn't grant you any rights to the music you upload. You're responsible for holding the licenses your choir needs. See copyright and licensing.
