The calendar holds your choir’s rehearsals, services and performances. It is switched off for new choirs, so if there’s no Calendar tab, that’s the first thing to check: turn it on under Settings › your choir › Features.
Members only see the calendar once it’s on.
RSVPs
Under Features › Calendar you decide how much you want to ask of people:
- Allow member RSVP: singers can say whether they’re coming.
- Require RSVP: they must answer before each event, rather than being able to ignore it.
- Show rehearsal location: include the venue on rehearsals as well as performances.
- Default reminder: how far ahead of an event people are reminded, anywhere from an hour to three days.
When a member answers, they get an optional free-text box alongside the yes or no. The app suggests “Running ten minutes late”, which is the sort of thing it’s for.
Requiring RSVPs is worth it for a concert and usually not worth it for a weekly rehearsal, where it mostly generates nagging.
Cancelling an event
A cancelled event is not removed from the calendar. It stays, marked as cancelled, so that anybody who looks at their calendar on the night sees why nothing is happening rather than assuming they’ve got the wrong week.
Attendance
Attendance is a separate feature with its own switch. Turning it on adds an Attendance tab and lets you set whether members can mark their own attendance, whether check-in is required, and whether an excused absence needs your approval.
The member-facing Attendance screen is not built yet. The tab appears and the settings are real, but singers currently see a placeholder rather than their attendance record. Leave the feature off unless you have a reason to turn it on.
