Download everything we hold
Settings › Security › Download your data.
You get a single zip containing your recordings, the choirs you’re in, your attendance and your messages. Building it takes a few minutes, and we email a link to your sign-in address when it’s ready.
Archives are deleted after a week. That’s deliberate. A permanent download link to everything you’ve ever recorded isn’t a thing worth leaving lying around. Ask for a fresh one whenever you need it.
Directors get a second option on the choir’s page: Export choir library, which is everything the choir has (every backing track and everyone’s recordings) as one zip.
You probably don’t need to delete your account
Most of what Choirside holds about you can go on its own, while your account stays open:
- A recording you made: open it and choose Delete. Your own takes are always yours to remove.
- A passkey or a linked account: Settings › Security. Removing one is always safe, you can still sign in with an emailed code.
- Everything in one choir: open the choir and choose Leave. That removes you from it along with your attendance and every recording you made there, and leaves your account and your other choirs alone.
- Songs, backing tracks, announcement groups, whole choirs: if you’re a director, delete these from the choir or song they belong to.
For anything else, email privacy@broadheadsoftware.com from the address on your account and say what you want removed. We reply to that address to confirm.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings › Security › Delete account. You type your email address to confirm, which is there to make sure nobody does this by accident.
On the web, signed in or not: choirside.com/delete-account.
You get 30 days to change your mind. The account is scheduled for deletion rather than removed on the spot, and signing back in during that window cancels it. After 30 days it’s permanent: your recordings, passkeys, linked accounts and choir memberships are all removed.
If you own an organization
You can’t delete an account that still owns an organization, because that would orphan every choir inside it. Transfer ownership or delete the organization first, and the app will tell you which one is blocking you.
Blocking someone
Settings › Blocked accounts lists everyone you’ve blocked and lets you undo it. Blocking hides what that person posts from you and hides yours from them. They aren’t notified, and neither of you is removed from the choir.
If somebody shouldn’t be in the choir at all, that’s a job for your director. See reporting content and staying safe.
